Food tasting, free pet grooming and advice, hands-on gardening experiences, displays of farm and exotic animals, and the sale of food products and plants are among the highlights of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology’s Institute of Agribusiness open weekend, at the institute’s centre in Qormi, which ends today.

The open weekend aims to introduce prospective stud-ents and the public to the various careers and learning opportunities offered by the institute.

Visitors will be able to try their hands at gardening, tour the institute’s animal husbandry units and fields, obtain free pet grooming and advice, see poultry and rabbit shows, apiculture displays, horticulture and floriculture activities, and take part in talks, discussions and workshops on various themes including rabbit breeding and bird migration, activities for children, presentations by NGOs involved in the sector.

On sale there will also be plants and local food products made by the institute, as well as food tasting.
