A man was remanded in custody yesterday after denying that he trafficked heroin in the vicinity of a youth club.

Herman McKay, 28, from Marsa, pleaded not guilty to trafficking heroin less than 100 metres from a youth club and to driving dangerously and disobeying police orders. He was also accused of relapsing.

Magistrate Edwina Grima denied bail because of the possibility of tampering with evidence.

Police Inspectors Jesmond Borg and Victor Aquilina prosecuted.

Lawyers Franco Debono, Marion Camilleri and Charmaine Cherrett appeared for the accused.
