The 2015/16 National Champion-ships in Trials and Autocross wrap up tomorrow when the Assoċjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi (ASMK) hold the final rounds at the circuit in Ta’ Qali.

The programme gets underway with the races for bikes at 4.30pm with the action continuing late in the evening when all three categories from the Autocross section will be vying for crucial points under artificial lights.

In the Trials Championship, everything points towards another Damon Bonello triumph on his Gas Gas in Class A.

In the current standings, Damon Bonello leads Rowen Bonello (Beta) who is engaged in a duel with Joseph Scicluna (Gas Gas) for second place.

The issue is wide open in Class B as Ian Scicluna (Gas Gas) heads into tomorrow’s final series enjoying a marginal lead in the standings over Manuel Camilleri (Gas Gas).

A look at the situation in Autocross shows that, in the Modified category, Christian Galea (Fiat Ritmo) will be confirmed as champion for yet another year.

Malcolm Borg (Opel Corsa) is also sure of the runner-up spot behind Galea but the race for third place is open as Gordon Johnson and Joseph Micallef (both Opel Corsa) are very close in the classification with only one round left.

Josef Abela (Nova) and Josef Grech (Ford Fiesta) also have an outside chance for third place.

In Autocross Standard, Deane Farrugia (Citroen AX) starts the decisive race at the top of the standings despite a mishap in his last outing where he failed to make sure of the title.

Farrugia leads the standings ahead of Ian Fenech (Citroen AX) and third-placed Traydon Bailey (Ford Ka).

At the end of the day’s programme of racing tomorrow, ASMK officials will distribute trophies to the national championship winners.
