Alternattiva Demokratika has requested an urgent meeting with the Broadcasting Authority to discuss its excluson from discussion programmes.
AD wrote to both Public Broadcasting Services and the Broadcasting Authority to complain about the exclusion. Ralph Cassar, the party’s general secretary, said that AD spokesmen were being excluded from discussion programmes on TVM and TVM2. “This is taking place even in programmes where AD has clear positions and policies on the issues under discussion.”
AD chairmain Michael Briguglio said that having AD spokesmen excluded from many discussion programmes on NET and ONE TV was bad enough. “Exclusion from most discussion programmes on PBS is unacceptable and results in a parody of what democratic and informative public broadcasting should be all about,” he said.
