A total of 28 children were adopted in the past two years, Social Affairs Minister Michael Farrugia said this evening.

Replying to a parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Robert Cutajar, the minister said 11 Russian children were adopted during 2014 and 12 in 2015. Four Slovaks and an Albanian were also adopted last year.

The minister noted that the data for last year may be incomplete as two adoption agencies had not yet submitted their reports for the last six months of the year.
