A group of 24 Ghanaians left Malta on a Frontex repatriation flight this morning.

All had their request for asylum refused and considered inadmissible by the Maltese authorities. They were escorted by police officers on a flight to Accra.

This was the fourth repatriation flight operated and financed by Frontex which stopped in Malta in the past four months.

This morning's charter flight originated from Austria and left Malta at around 4 a.m.

This operation brings the number of people deported from Malta to African countries since the beginning of the year to 195.
