More than 800 projects from 87 countries were submitted online for Citroen’s creative design competition, organised into three main categories.

The ‘Idea’ contest focuses on the travelling comfort of future cars, the ‘Video’ contest on the DS5’s take on premium vehicle design, and the ‘Style’ contest on the creation of an outfit inspired by the Citroën DS3.

The jury, led by Marc Duval-Destin, director of research and advanced engineering at the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group, was composed of international personalities inclduing Véronique Morali, founder of the terrafirma.com website; Iain Percy, English yachtsman and winner of two Olympic gold medals; Xu Qun, chief editor of Car and Driver China; Carlo Antonelli, director of Wired Italia; Nicolas Henchoz, academic and specialist in the relations between design and technology; and Augustin Paluel Marmont, co-founder of the Michel et Augustin food brand.

It also included Fernando Calmon, Brazilian motoring journalist; Xavier Duchemin, director of marketing and communications at Citroën; Thierry Metroz, style director at Citroën; and Thomas d’Haussy, product director at Citroën.

The jury chose the following projects:

‘Temptation’ by Natalya Zhirkova (Russian designer) won the Style contest.

‘Junior Driver’ by Wouter Van Vugt (Dutch graphic designer), a 3D simulator that enables children to drive ‘live’ and compare their trajectories with a real car, won the Idea contest.

The Video Contest was won by y François Ladevie (French designer) with ‘Audace’ .
