A man involved in a car collision in Marsascala in 1997 was this morning awarded more than €20,000 in damages.

Alfred and Connie Grixti, in a writ against Kevin Pace, claimed that Mr Grixti had suffered a permanent disability following a collision with a car driven by Mr Pace.

Mr Pace filed a counter-claim requesting the court to award him damages resulting from the collision which, he claimed, had been caused by Mr Grixti.

The court heard that Mr Grixti was driving his car along St Anthony Street in Marsascala. He was keeping to his own lane when Mr Pace lost control of his vehicle and crossed over into the opposite lane crashing with Mr Grixti.

Mr Justice Raymond Pace concluded that Mr Grixti suffered an eight per cent permanent disability as a result of the accident and ordered Mr Pace to pay Mr Grixti €20,204.03 in damages.
