Six of a group of 14 Tunisian migrants who escaped from Safi detention camp have now been re-arrested, informed sources said the evening.

The group, (originally thought to have consisted of 18 migrants) escaped by rushing a gate as it was opened to admit a foreign female doctor this afternoon. The doctor was thrown to the ground.

A search for the remaining migrants is being made by officers of the Detention Service, the police and the AFM.

Earlier today the Detention Service caught six Tunisians who escaped from Safi on Saturday. The Tunisians had made their way to the Hal Far 'tent village' where their presence was reported by other migrants.

The Tunisians are awaiting deportation.
