Sixteen modular workshops will be held under the Lean Business Excellence Malta 2011 programme which began with a launch conference at the Radisson Blu Resort, St Julian’s, last month.

The programme, organised and facilitated by Carlo Scodanibbio and engineering and quality management consultant Joseph Micallef, now progresses with four training workshops in July.

The rest of the events will be held periodically throughout the summer and autumn.

A day’s interactive conference launching the programme was attended by top executives from various industries, sectors and nterprises.

The organisers said the encouraging feedback received indicated there was significant interest in the adoption of lean principles in the route towards achieving business excellence.

The awareness raised at the event has brought to light the need for a change in culture and the benefits of adopting lean thinking throughout any type of organisation, large or small, governmental, private or public.

The organisers said this is the first ever initiative of this size that has been undertaken in Malta to promote lean business principles.
