Gozo’s Drug Squad arrested 126 people in connection with drug trafficking and possession in the past two years, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela said in Parliament this evening.

Replying to a Parliamentary question by PN deputy leader Carmelo Abela, the minister said 31 of them were arraigned in court.

He said 49 drug arrests were carried out in Gozo in 2014 and 53 last year. A total of 23 have been charged.

The minister said that nine people were arrested for trafficking in 2014 and 15 in 2015. Eight of them have been arraigned.
