Marginalised members of society need special attention, human rights NGO Aditus said yesterday in an open letter to political parties.

It urged party leaders not to forget the rights of transgender people, migrants and refugees, people with mental illnesses and physical disabilities, minors in the context of judicial proceedings and those living in or at risk of poverty.

The letter also called for adherence to international human rights standards and the strengthening of national institutions that monitor human rights observance.
