It is difficult to accept that our iconic Azure Window is no more. Many a happy picture was posted on Facebook lately, recalling happier times when the landmark was still there.

I would like to share my take on this ‘tragedy’ and throw some light on its positive side. Come to think of it, we all have our Azure Windows when our world is going fine but, at times, when we least expect it, we start to lose these in the shape of jobs, relationships, health, loved ones and all the goodness we may have enjoyed. One by one they are diminished or gone…

I feel it is a healthy way to make the best of this historic moment and realise that everything is transient and nothing is ‘rock’ solid, as we may think it is. In recent years, more than in the past, we have seen the global ungluing of our structures be it in education, healthcare, banking systems, religions… everything in our society’s make-up is experiencing serious cracks. We are being tested at both a micro and a macro level. The Azure Window is only a wake-up call to think deeper into our own true realities.
