The image shows a subject controlling a motorised bed using brain signals, giving the possibility to locked-in patients for example to gain control over their environment and limit the constant carer support. The bed is controlled through a set of stimuli displayed on a computer screen, flickering at different frequencies. Each stimulus is attributed to a specific bed function and the control signal the subject wanted to activate is detected by the system in real time by processing the electroencephalographic signals recorded from the occipital brain area.
