HSBC Bank Malta has rolled out free Wi-Fi across all of its 26 branches, hoping to encourage customers to sign up for its mobile banking app.

Daniel Robinson, head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) at HSBC Malta, said: “We can assist our customers in getting their devices set up for our free mobile banking app using our free in-branch Wi-Fi service. Since its launch in July 2014, that app has proved really popular and customers can now connect their device from within our branches.”

The app is available to download from the Apple Store for iPhone® and iPad and Google Play for Android smartphones.

Carrefour Christmas offer

Customers who have a GS Malta loyalty card will get back €6 cash-in-card spent at any of the eight supermarkets retailing Carrefour products and €14 for every €100 over the Christmas period. The cash credit is redeemable from the supermarket that would have credited the card and from the following month.

In addition, a number of products are also carrying cashback discounts that are also credited in-card, while others are heavily discounted for the holiday season.

DHL to open 6 more pickup points

By the end of this year DHL will have six more Lock-it Stations in service, over and above the three introduced earlier this year.

When the DHL Express courier fails to find someone to receive a shipment, the client is notified that they can opt to collect their package from the Lock-it Station nearest to where they live. Shippers can choose to activate specific delivery options and have DHL Express proactively notify their customers via e-mail or SMS about a shipment’s progress.

This is all part of DHL Express’s On Demand Delivery, a service that allows shippers and receivers globally to select from a range of standardised delivery options. On Demand Delivery will be deployed to more than 100 countries in 2016 and 2017.
