Featuring rare and exclusive footage, Ron Howard’s The Beatles – Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years premieres this Thursday in London.
The film will be screened simultaneously in Malta, preceded by a live streaming of the London red carpet. Starting at 7pm, this is set to be a star-studded event from the city’s famed Leicester Square. The screening here will also include 20 minutes of exclusive theatrical content.
The documentary is based on the first part of the Beatles’ career (1962-1966) and produced with the full cooperation of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison. It focuses on the period in which the band toured and captured the world’s acclaim and explores how John Lennon, McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr came together to become the extraordinary phenomenon The Beatles.
It looks at their inner workings – how they made decisions, created their music and built their collective career – all the while exploring the Beatles’ extraordinary and unique musical gifts and their remarkable, complementary personalities.
Thursday’s premiere can be enjoyed at Eden Cinemas in St Julian’s and Empire Cinemas in Buġibba. A full theatrical run will follow this special event from Friday at Eden, Empire and Embassy Cinemas, the latter in Valletta.
