American apparel brand Guess has a new Maltese ambassador after a local businesswoman added the franchise to her burgeoning fashion portfolio.

Diane Izzo said that she plans to revamp Guess outlets and double its present turnover in the next three years.

"We've already set our sights on opening Guess Kids in the near future," Ms Izzo said.

Ms Izzo has taken over the brand from the Halmann Vella Group. She had recently also bought 7 Camicie and Brooks Brothers from the Group.

The takeover includes two clothing and accessories outlets in Bay Street Shopping Complex, St Julian’s, and The Point, in Sliema, as well as an accessories store in Bisazza Street, Sliema.

“I’m happy to see the business grow. I’m keeping my feet on the ground and working harder, so that together with my team, we can better the results,” Ms Izzo said.

Guess will join an Izzo portfolio which includes franchises such as fashion brands Terranova, Calliope, Liu Jo Donna, Liu Jo Uomo, Max & Co., and Make-Up Store, as well as the well-known coffee houses Caffe Pascucci.
