Do you know where the recycling bins are on campus?

During the first week of University there were big bins in the student parking area behind Student House, but some people had complained about them. There are also some in the Gateway Building area. Adelaide Grixti, 3rd year BA European Studies.

Yes, in the student parking area near the Quadrangle. Leon Xuereb, 3rd year B. Arts (English and Theatre Studies).

I have no idea. Chantelle Cauchi, 2nd year LL.B (Hons).

Where are the best places for recycling bins on campus to encourage students to make use of them?

I would suggest installing big ones in the Quadrangle and smaller ones near each faculty. Adelaide Grixti

Near parking areas and Student House, because students normally throw out their garbage when they’re leaving. Leon Xuereb

The Quadrangle, Gateway Building and the University’s other main entrance. Chantelle Cauchia

How would you improve the waste management system on campus?

Most young people don’t really put any effort into recycling, so any changes should at least be user- or student-friendly. Adelaide Grixti

Most people recycle more at home, so recycling efforts should be aimed more at student organisations. Leon Xuereb

The bins need to be more visible; they should be placed right outside Student House and we need to raise more awareness about them. Chantelle Cauchia
