The second Malta International Organ Festival takes place between November 19 and December 7 across several locations in Malta and Gozo.

The festival brings together world renowned, top-notch musicians with some of the greatest music written for the organ, performed in churches and cathedrals that showcase some of the Maltese islands’ most stunning architectural and artistic heritage.

The programme kicks off with a performance by Gianluca Libertucci on the organ, accompanied by soprano Olga Makarina from the Met Opera, baritone Joseph Lia and Gianpiero Cristaldi on trumpet. The concert takes place at St Paul’s Anglican Pro-Cathedral at 7pm.

Other highlights include a concert by Adriano Morea on the organ at St Paul’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Mdina; a double organ concert by Andres Uibo and Denis Kasparovitch at St Helen’s Basilica, Birkirkara; Denis Kasparovitch on the organ and Aare Tammesalu on the cello at Our Lady of Victories parish church, Naxxar; improvisations on Maltese themes by John Aquilina at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Balluta; Daniel Zaretskiy on the organ, accompanied by soprano Maria Lyudko and clarinettist Georges Devdariani at St Paul’s Anglican Pro-Cathedral; and Diego Cannizzaro on the organ, baritone Joseph Lia and James Ham conducting the Valletta Chamber Orchestra at St Paul’s Anglican Pro-Cathedral. Solo recitals will be held by Joe Caruana at St Gregory parish church, Sliema; Erwin Wiersinga at St Augustine parish church, Valletta; Evgenia Krivitskaya at Santa Maria Assunta parish church, Għaxaq; Simone Vebber at the Robert Sammut Hall, Floriana.

A number of concerts will also take place in Gozo. These will feature Andres Uibo on organ and Mari-Liis Uibo on violin at Our Lady of Victories parish church, Xagħra; Denis Kasparovitch in a solo recital at St Augustine church, Victoria; and Andres Uibo, Joseph Lia, Mari-Liis Uibo and Aare Tammesalu at St Margaret parish church, Sannat.

Ciricino Micheletto and Roberto Rigo and a performance featuring the Chorus Urbanus will also be held separately at St Margaret parish church, Sannat.
