A video of a dog named Jasper splashing and 'swimming' in a bucket of water has become a viral hit gaining nearly 300,000 views since it was first uploaded onto social media on September 14.

The video shows Jasper leaping into a small pail of water and splashing around as his owner Tanya Morris asks "Are you swimming?".

Morris told Reuters Jasper is a three-year-old Labrador/Jack Russell mix and that he regularly 'swims' in the snow during the winter.

Morris said she didn't expect the video to be viewed so many times, but has now started a new Facebook page called 'Everybody loves Jasper.'
