The eighth edition of the Leone Goes Pop concert was held by the Leone Band for the first time at Villa Rundle gardens, Victoria.

Emotions were running high among the 80-piece band conducted by Colin Attard, as members had just attended the funeral of backstage volunteer Neville Bajada, who died aged 35 from a terminal illness. In a tribute to him, and with his family present, the band started the concert with Eric Clapton’s Tears in Heaven as white balloons were let into the air.
