A concert of sacred music, entitled Calix Passionis, will be held at St Dominic parish church, Valletta, on Tuesday at 7pm.

Taking part will be the parish choir, Porta Salutis, sopranos Gabrielle Portelli and Diana Formosa, tenor Arthur Micallef, organist Clint Spiteri, oboist Charlene Montebello and violinist Gabrielle Spiteri.

Directing the concert will be Mro Raymond Attard.

Senglea

Senglea Drama Group will stage Barabbas by Joe Gatt. The play, directed by Adrian Falzon and Andrew Grech, will be held on Saturday and next Sunday at 7.30pm at the Catholic Action Seat in Senglea.

Birkirkara

The TEAK (Talent, Elenjan, Arti u Kultura) commission within St Helen Society Band Club, Duke of Connaught’s Own Band of Birkirkara, will present a sacred exhibition, entitled Lucem Vitae, at the club in Triq il-Wied, Birkirkara. The exhibition includes a Last Supper display and items connected with the club and the Passion Week, including a statue of Christ the Redeemer.

The exhibition will be open on Wednesday until April 4.

Dingli

It-Triq tas-Salib (The Way of the Cross) along Dingli streets will be held on March 31 at 6.30pm. The play, which will start from Misraħ Frenċ Abela and ends in front of the parish church, is being organised by St Mary Band Club of Dingli in collaboration with Dingli parish.

The 15 stations will be animated by more than 130 actors under the direction of Paul Azzopardi.

Ħamrun

Ħenjin dawk ta’ qalbhom safja (Blessed are the pure at heart) is the title of this year’s Passion production by the Propera Avgesco Drama Group of Ħamrun to be staged at the Ħamrun local council square in Duke of Edinburgh Street on Saturday at 8.30pm.

Marsascala

The Għaqda Dilettanti Ġimgħa l-Kbira of Gozo will present L-Imsallab fi Triqatna (The Crucified in our Streets) in Marsascala on March 30 at 7pm.

Around 150 people, dressed in biblical costumes, will take part in the play to be held near St Anne’s Garden. The script and direction is by George Cassar, president and founder of the society.

The play is being held with the collaboration of the Marsascala council.
