Laiq Ahmed Atif’s article ‘Inter-religious dialogue’ (March 6) might have some purpose here but I suggest he publishes it in newspapers in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia because, although Muslims are flourishing while being left to live in peace in the West, Christians are dwindling due to persecution in certain Muslim countries.

While a lady wears a Burka unhindered in the West, a Christian arriving at the airport in Saudi Arabia wearing a cross will have it pulled away and thrown in a garbage bin.

So if Ahmed Atif wants to be a true friend of Malta and Christianity, he should begin by sending a letter of petition to the Pakistani government to free Asia Bibi and to allow Christians there to practise their faith in peace.
