Work on the second phase of the flood relief project in Lija will start tomorrow morning, the government said.

Works will include the digging of three metre tunnels below road level, the replacement of damaged drainage pipes and the placing of new rain water grates.

Works will continue at night.

During the works traffic from Triq Dun Karm Psaila, Birkirkara (the Birkirkara by-pass) towards Mosta will be directed to the right towards Mosta from Main Street.

Traffic from the direction of Naxxar Road, Birkirkara and Valley Road, Balzan towards Mosta will be directed to the left of the roundabout towards Main Street.

Traffic from Transfiguration Avenue in Lija heading to Valletta, Birkirkara or Balzan, would be deviated to the Lija cemetery and towards Main Street to Triq Dun Karm Psaila.

Traffic from Mosts and Naxxar would proceed to Triq Dun Karm Psaila.
