The Volkswagen Group achieved the first goal of its Strategy 2018 last year: over 10 million vehicles delivered in 2014, an increase of 4.2 per cent.

Including heavy commercial vehicles, group brands delivered a total of 3.95 million vehicles to customers in Europe, 891,900 to the North America and 795,700 to South America. The group also recorded encouraging figures in the Asia-Pacific region, where annual deliveries topped the four-million mark for the first time.

The Volkswagen passenger cars brand delivered 6.12 million vehicles, double the number in 2004. Audi delivered 1.74 million vehicles to customers worldwide in 2014, an increase of 10.5 per cent.

The sports car manufacturer Porsche delivered a total of 189,800, an increase of 17.1 per cent, while Skoda reached the one-million mark for the first time. Seat reached 390,500 deliveries.

BOV to undertakesoftware upgrade

Bank of Valletta will be undertaking an operational software upgrade between 4pm tomorrow and 8am on Monday. The bank is making all the necessary arrangements to provide a seamless and uninterrupted service, however, a number of services will be functioning on a limited basis.

The ATM real-time cash and cheque deposit function will not be available during the upgrade but all other ATM functionality will be unaffected.

BOV Internet Banking and BOV Mobile Banking services will not be available for a short time. The BOV Mobile top-up service will only be available through the bank’s ATM Network while the BOV Mobile payments service will not be available during the entire upgrade period.

Transactions made through the bank’s ATMs, BOV Internet Banking and BOV Mobile Banking services during the upgrade period will be processed and value dated on Monday. Funds deposited into credit card accounts between tomorrow and Sunday will be made available on Monday.
