BEZZINA. On January 7, at St Vincent de Paul residence, ESTHER, née Cassar, of Sliema, widow of Emmanuel, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Grace and her husband Carmel Parnis, Joseph, Raymond and his wife Ninette, Paul and his wife Rose, Antonella and her husband Dominic Micallef, and Carmen, widow of her son Charles, grandchildren, great-grand­children, other relatives and friends. The funeral takes place today. Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm at Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MICALLEF. On January 7, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, of Żurrieq, and residing in Paola, ex-Quantity Surveyor at Public Works Department, aged 62, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Loved and remembered by his devoted wife Josette, his most treasured daughters Claire and her husband Daren Mangion, Amanda and her husband Owen Camilleri, his most beloved grandchildren Luca, Matteo and Gavin, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, January 10 at 8am, for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment at San Girgor Cemetery, Żejtun. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the medical staff who have taken care of him throughout all the years. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SCHEMBRI. On January 7, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, PHYLLIS, nèe Agius, widow of Nicholas, aged 83, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons George and his wife Gina, Ronald and his wife Edmea, Alister and his wife Patricia, Michael and his wife Marika, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves St Luke’s mortuary tomorrow, Friday, at 2.30pm for Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass will be held at 3pm followed by interment. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated.

Memorial Service

A service of thanksgiving for the life of SARAH PIENAAR will be held on Sunday, January 11 at 11.45am at St Andrew’s Scots church, South Street, Valletta. Donations, in lieu of flowers, to be made to the church for the benefit of Dar Tereża Spinelli.

CASSAR DESAIN VIANI, the Noble LAWRENCE who passed away in Belgium on November 23, 2014. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated tomorrow at 6.30pm at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.
