Charlston Cassar, 22, from Cospicua, was given an 18-month suspended jail term and fined €1,000 for threatening a police inspector in court on December 4. He apologised, saying he had feared missing the birth of his child.
Mr Cassar sports a ‘Fu** the police’ neck tattoo. He was accused of threatening inspector Josric Mifsud, breaching the peace and uttering obscene language publicly.
The threat was made before Magistrate Anthony Vella and journalists covering the compilation of evidence against Mr Cassar and his three brothers over a fight between some 30 people in Cospicua on November 11.
The court placed Mr Cassar under a supervision order for four years and forbade him from harassing the inspector for three years.
