A man who injured his brother with a steak knife following an argument at home has been conditionally discharged for 18 months.

Magistrate Josette Demicoli heard Jonathan Sciberras say that he never intended to hurt his brother, Jean Paul. The magistrate also heard that his brother had forgiven him.

Jonathan Sciberras, 32, of San Ġwann, and his brother, had been going through a phase of arguing a lot.

On September 21 they got into an argument – neither of them remembered how it started – and as they stood in the kitchen, the accused grabbed and brandished a knife. His brother was injured when he tried to grab it.
