Christmas is a time to give and Engel & Völkers Sara Grech have come up with a really positive initiative this holiday season in aid of Ejjew Għandi children’s homes.

Their campaign which is being promoted solely through the use of social media and is aimed at collecting as many clothes and stationery as possible for homeless children in Malta. Their aim is to partner up with as many companies as possible and through these companies spread the message of the campaign so they collect as many items as possible.

Mark Trapani, Marketing Assistant at Engel & Völkers Sara Grech spoke to us about this initiative and gave details about how other companies can join up and do some good this Christmastime.

How did this idea come about?
Each year that goes by we always look forward to engaging with our fans during the festive period. In the past we had giveaway competitions with video posts and questions, this year we thought of doing something different so we decided to put our hearts together and help support less fortunate children in Malta. We contacted the ‘Ejjew Għandi’ Children’s Homes which is the central office for the 12 children homes in Malta, and they were very grateful for our support and ideas. This campaign aims to collect as many clothes and stationery as possible so that we may donate everything to the ‘Ejjew Għandi’ Children’s Homes on the 19th December.

Can you tell us more about what companies need to do to take part?
The aim of this campaign is to build a network of companies via social media and entice all their fans to donate stationery and clothes to the children’s homes. Interested companies should contact us and we will provide them with the necessary artwork to share on their online corporate pages. People interested in donating should drop off anything they would like to donate to one of our office in Sliema, St Paul’s Bay, Attard, Portomaso, Fgura and Msida.

What was the reaction to this initiative so far?
Reaction so far has been very positive, however, we would still like to collect more goods. We are proud to say that both GO and Vodafone have jumped on board with our incentive, we would like to thank them for the support.

What do companies have to do to participate in this initiative?
Companies should get in touch with myself, Mark Trapani – Marketing Assistant at Engel & Völkers via email mark.trapani@engelvoelkers.com or call on 2347 0200 for more information. This campaign ends on the 19th of December and therefore we encourage all companies who would like to participate to contact us straight away.
