Two Scottish men in their early 20s were yesterday accused of causing trouble while drunk on Sunday night.

David Bertram Frame, 21, pleaded not guilty to damaging a woman’s car when he allegedly punched it as she drove past him in Wied l-Għomor, St Julian’s, at about 9.30pm.

The police told the court the accused was walking there with a number of other people.

He was also charged with being drunk in public and breaching the peace and was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €1,500.

Rory Alexander Sinclair Scott, 23, admitted damaging the electronic payment machine at Hugo’s Terrace, in St Julian’s, in the early hours of Sunday.

He was also charged with injuring an officer at the St Julian’s police station but Police Inspector Carol Fabri, prosecuting, noted it was an accident.

The police officer was hurt when Mr Scott held on to him as he slipped.

The accused then became agitated when the police searched his wallet, the prosecuting officer told the court.

He was conditionally discharged for 18 months.
