I have written many times about the need of bus shelters at the Valletta bus terminus.

Towards the end of the Nationalist administration, the matter was mentioned in one of the debates when an Opposition member (then Labour) asked the minister about it. The minister had answered that the plan for the bus shelters would be ready in March of that year. However it seems like the project was shelved.

Arriva came and left. Bus commuters, in the meantime, have to fight the inclement elements of the various seasons.

Now we shall have a Spanish bus company. But it is not enough. The Labour government must give to Valletta a proper bus station. We do not have a bus station but only a very poor terminus.

I hope the government heeds my plea and gives to Valletta a bus station equipped with all amenities that the modern ones have including a police station, a pharmacy and needy shops.
