Beppe Fenech Adami, the Nationalist deputy leader, returned to Malta last night after visiting the UK for medical treatment, the party said.

It said in a statement that his treatment will continue both here and abroad in the coming days and weeks, and again appealed for the family’s privacy to be respected.

The family has told Times of Malta Dr Fenech Adami, 45, received consultation and medical attention to determine the best way of successfully targeting his condition.

Relatives said his treatment was extremely specialised and not available in Malta and expressed deep appreciation of the support received from all quarters.

Dr Fenech Adami is the son of President Emeritus and former prime minister Eddie Fenech Adami.
