Sai Mizzi Liang should know that the people living on this island are not gullible idiots.
It is not about being Chinese. The Chinese are a loving people who are, unfortunately, oppressed by an autocratic communist regime that continues to deny its citizens true democracy and human rights. It is neither about how much she considers herself suitable for the job.
It is about how surreptitiously she has been engaged, being a minister’s wife.
It is also about being honest in declaring one’s total emoluments, because transparency so dictates in a democratic country.
No amount of tears will alter public opinion, although she will probably always have Lino Spiteri to console her with his now nauseating cry of ‘negativity’ of whoever disagrees with this Labour government’s actions.
