In celebration of its 21st birthday, Emmanuel Delicata’s Classic Collection range will sport a new look, including a convenient screwcap closure and modern, yet classic, labelling.

In 1993 Emmanuel Delicata launched the revolutionary range of single varietal wines onto the Maltese market under the brand name The Classic Collection. The original range of six wines included Chardonnay, Trebbiano, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The production of these quality wines made from well-known international grape varieties swiftly became popular with the wine-drinking community, giving certain local winemakers the confidence and means to invest in the local production of quality wines.

They mark a pivotal turning point in the history of wine-making in Malta, because within just a few short years, their success and increasing popularity resulted in the development of modern-day grape-growing across Malta and Gozo. This gave birth to many of the quality Maltese wines from home-grown grapes we can all enjoy today.

The range now consists of seven single varietal wines including Donato Chardonnay IGT Maltese Islands, Cavalli Sauvignon Blanc, Gabrieli Pinot Grigio, Landini Vermentino IGT Maltese Islands, Casella Moscato IGT Maltese Islands, Carissimi Cabernet Sauvignon IGT Maltese Islands and Marenzio Merlot IGT Maltese Islands, all from the latest 2013 vintage.

The newly-packaged Classic Collection wines will be released in the coming weeks.
