Today marks the 38th anniversary of the crash of an RAF Vulcan bomber on Zabbar, the most recent major aircraft crash in Malta.

The huge bomber crashed on Sanctuary Street in Zabbar, killing Vincenza Zammit, 38, who was walking in the street and about to enter her house. The pilot and co-pilot ejected safely but five crewmen stayed on board and died.

More than 100 homes and cars were damaged.
