No one was injured but an Opel Astra was extensively damaged when it caught fire in Triq San Xmun, Fgura, at 2.30am, the police said.

The fire was controlled by the Civil Protection Department.

The doors of a residence and a garage in the vicinity were damaged.

An inquiry is being held.
