Air Malta has recently been chosen as the preferred ground handling partner by Turkish Airlines, Air Baltic and Monarch Airlines at Malta International Airport.

Starting this summer, the airlines will operate over 140 flights to and from Malta, the airline said in a statement.

Chief operations officer Silvio Falzon said it was good news for the airline.

“We are thrilled these international airlines have chosen us as their preferred ground handling partner.

“The steady implementation of the restructuring process across the ground handling function is continuing and facilitating the acquirement of new business opportunities,” he said.

Air Malta, through its ground handling arm, is geared to provide the full range of services that include passenger handling, ramp, ground operations and cargo operations.

These include check-in services, passenger escorting, departure gates service, transit passengers, baggage services, flight editing, aircraft dispatch, load control, weight and balance.
