The FA has received Alex Ferguson’s observations about his post-match comments at Tottenham last Sunday. The United boss submitted the information prior to deadline.
Now the FA has until Tuesday evening to decide whether to formally charge Ferguson.
Ferguson spoke out following the 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane, when United conceded an injury-time equaliser after Wayne Rooney’s penalty claim was rejected by referee Chris Foy.
However, it was assistant Simon Beck who bore the brunt of Ferguson’s ire, with the Scot’s discontent with the linesman dating back to April 2010 when he failed to spot Didier Drogba was in an offside position as he scored a crucial goal for Chelsea at Old Trafford.
“He had a really poor game,” said Ferguson at the weekend.
“There was no way the linesman was going to give that – he gave them everything.
“It was a clear decision. And he was 10 yards away.”
