Young students yesterday took the place of journalists accompanying the Prime Minister during a visit to the Attard primary as they wanted to know everything about when Dr Gonzi was a young boy.

Luke, an eight-year-old, asked: “Were you naughty, Prime Minister?” Rather surprised at the question, Dr Gonzi first winked at the journalists and then said: “Yes, I was a little naughty.”

“But all of us are a little mischievous when we’re young,” he quickly added as his wife Kate smiled.

Dr Gonzi felt more comfortable talking about his favourite football teams. “In Malta I support Valletta City, as this is myhometown, and I also support Italy and Inter,” he told the attentive children.

“But above all I always support Malta,” he said. And did the Prime Minister have a pet, asked Lucia.

“I love animals and used to have a cat when I was a little boy. She was quiet but I used to love chasing her,” he said.
