A total of 122 complaints were registered this year with the Kummissjoni Nazzjonalli Persuni b'Dizabilita, which is this year celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Addressing a news conference this morning, executive director AnnMarie Callus said this was 22 more than the average. The highest registered was 172 between 2008 and 2009.

This year's complaints brought the number of complaints for investigation to 274. A total 97 of them were closed, 13 are in court and 160 are still under consideration.

While most of the complaints between 2000 and 2010 were on accessibility, they were now on services and objects, including public transport, faulty ramps on bendy buses, bad infrastructure, and a lack of parking and bus stops near Floriana pharmacies.
