Two pregnant women and a man were today granted bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000 each after they pleaded not guilty to stealing €1,800 from Gauci Borda and Sons in Gzira on Sunday afternoon.

Brian Pace, 34, Donna Camilleri, 26, and her sister Amanda, 27, were caught after a passer-by filmed the incident and took the footage to police.

Mr Pace was charged with stealing the cash from the till and causing damage at the shop while the two sisters were charged with complicity. All three were charged with handling stolen property and relapsing.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli heard that Mr Pace was a victim of usury and needed money since he owed €20,000 after he borrowed €400 to buy cocaine.
