Britons have welcomed the world to the Olympics and Paralympics but appear less friendly towards tourists from their own country, according to a survey.
Britons regard the UK as the second most unfriendly destination for tourists in the world, with only the French offering acooler welcome to UK visitors, the poll by holidaylettings.co.uk found.
More than half (57 per cent) of the 3,000 Britons surveyed earlier this month said Britons were less friendly and welcoming towards holidaymakers than other tourist destinations.
The US was considered by Britons as offering the warmest welcome to tourists, with Greece second and Spain third.
London was reckoned to be by far the UK’s most unfriendly tourist spot, followed by Wales.
