Re/Max Malta recently launched its Real Estate Academy at the Malta Property and Homes Expo. The goal of setting up the academy was to create a foundation where real estate training courses by Re/Max can be co-ordinated and developed and to provide those aspiring for a career in property to understand the market before they make the move.

During the expo, 35 Re/Max associates completed a nine-week ‘Succeed’ mentoring programme and 31 participants attended a six-hour training course.

Re/Max Malta regional director Jeffrey Buttigieg said changing one’s career was a major step and it was important that people understood the benefits and the way real estate was practised before starting a career.

The training course is a feeler course and subjects covered included ‘Being a successful real estate agent’, ‘What is sales – why do people buy?’, and ‘Dealing with the demanding lead’.

Structured by Re/Max regional trainer Paul Vincenti, the course provided an outsider with an understanding of the business, made the attendees aware of the pressures but also gave them an inside look into the opportunities they may come across.

The academy’s training schedule for the third and fourth quarter of the year has been launched. Together with the ‘Succeed’ foundation course for experienced and non-experienced real estate agents, Mr Vincenti will also be delivering the 14-week ‘Tom Ferry Sales Power’ course for managers and associates, and is presently giving Re/Max managers a course on ‘Training to the power of three’.

This is a new course that targets managers – making them understand more the training needs of their associates.
