The Hotel Phoenicia in Floriana and Marsalforn’s Hotel Calypso have received Certificates of Excellence from travel website Trip Advisor.
The accolade is given annually to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on the Trip Advisor website.
Both the Phoenicia and the Calypso maintained an overall rating of at least four out of five from visitors who logged reviews on Tripadvisor.com.
Around 10 per cent of accommodations listed on Trip Advisor receive this award annually.
The volume of reviews received within the past 12 months is also taken into account before certificates are awarded.
Another recipient of Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence was the Maltese-owned Corinthia Hotel London.
This flagship hotel opened last year and offers 294 rooms, including 36 suites and seven penthouses, with sweeping views of some of London’s most popular landmarks.
