Go last week introduced mobile internet download speeds reaching 42Mbps, the fastest and most reliable mobile internet – double the speed offered by local providers.
The development was possible after a major overhaul of the 3G mobile network. Go chief commercial officer Yiannos Michaelides explained at the launch on Wednesday that the operator was the only provider in Malta whose state-of-the-art, energy-efficient base stations are linked to the network core and the internet over fibre.
Customers benefit from super-fast links all the way from their mobile to the base station and from the base station to the web.
Mr Michaelides referred to the €100 million investment which Go is channelling to its new infrastructure to strengthen its network with a view to enhancing customer experience.
Go’s new mobile internet campaign with the tag ‘Join the revolution’ introduces a range of offers and initiatives such as free mobile internet to all ‘Pay As You Go’ customers with top-ups of €10 or more, six months’ free mobile internet for customers buying a new smartphone from a range, free smartphones and free mobile internet with ‘Pay Monthly’ plans, advantageous mobile data plans to customers subscribed to Home Pack and other multiplay packages, and the innovative free mobile Wi-Fi device.
The ‘Revolution’ campaign also includes the new iPad, the only device currently in the market to experience the maximum download speeds offered by 42Mbps.
