Vodafone Foundation celebrates Red Heart Day

The Vodafone Malta Foundation joined its counterparts across the world to celebrate Vodafone Red Heart Day on February 14 to help raise awareness and money for the Moyo Challenge.

The challenge seeks to treat and make a significant contribution to the eradication of the suffering from obstetric fistula in rural Tanzania. Obstetric fistula is a disabling post-labour condition that leaves women incontinent.

Through the Moyo Challenge, Vodafone is helping raise funds to provide these women with travel costs to hospital for treatment as well as contributing to the education and maternal healthcare services required in Tanzania. Vodafone is seeking to help change the lives of 31,000 women.

Wearing a touch of red, Vodafone Malta team members gave money to Cupid who went round the offices distributing chocolates and balloons for the occasion.

On their part employees bought Moyo wristbands as a way of donating funds. Members also took part in a company competition held globally.

The ‘Thank You From The Heart’ competition saw staff sending a virtual red heart to somebody they admire at Vodafone, while trying to win a Samsung Galaxy S2.
