Just months since making it into the world’s Top 100 DJ list, local duo Tenishia has continued to make international headlines by being recognised as one of the world’s most talented dance music producers, earning a nomination for a International Dance Music Award (IDMA) at this year’s Miami Music Conference.

Tenishia’s track Shores of Eden, which was released last year on Armada Records and features local singer Raquela has been nominated for Best Chill Out/Ambient Track in the prestigious IDMA. Other nominees in the same category include Florence and the Machine, Massive Attack, and Kaskade, who was voted 2011’s American DJ of the Year.

The IDMA awards are the longest standing awards dedicated to the dance and electronic music industry and the ceremony is one of the most anticipated annual events on the global music calendar.

The IDMAs generate over two million votes from music enthusiasts in 206 countries and territories every year to recognise and honour exceptional achievements in 57 award categories.

As music continues to evolve, the IDMAs have emerged as an essential platform for career-launching appearances. The 27th edition of the awards will take place on March 22.

The award winners are voted by the public over the internet on www.wintermusicconference.com and voting is open till March 1.

Among the several nominees for other awards are superstars such as Lady Gaga, LMFAO, David Guetta, Tiesto, Pitbull, Armin Van Buuren, Avicii and the Swedish House Mafia.

Meanwhile, Tenishia will soon be announcing full details of their first local concert, which should take place at MFCC in Ta’ Qali in March, as well as the worldwide release of their debut dance album on Armada Records.
