Nadur
The Nadur council will kick off Carnival activities today with a Carnival Parade and a show featuring costumes, dancing and floats at St Peter and St Paul Square at 1.30 p.m. The event will end with the traditional Kukkanja.

The spontaneous Carnival will take place in Nadur between Friday and February 21. Floats are not to be larger than an average Transit van. They are to be pushed manually. Public transport will be available from Mġarr and Victoria.

Kerċem
A Carnival float parade and dancing will be held at Pjazza Orvieto, Kerċem, on Wednesday.

Victoria
Gozo’s regional Carnival will be held between Thursday and February 21. Activities will include street manifestations, dancing, floats and revelry on Independence Square and on the main streets of Victoria.

Żebbuġ
On Friday, there will be dancing and a float parade at Pjazza l-Assunta.

Xewkija
Dancing and a floats parade will be held at Pjazza San Gwann Battista and San Bert Street, on Friday and Saturday.

Xagħra
Xagħra council will hold Carnival activities between Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s programme, which will include dancing and several competitions for the best Carnival costume, will be held on Nazzarenu Square, starting at 7.30 p.m. This year there will also be a spontaneous Carnival in Mannar Street. The programme will end with a one-hour musical concert by the band Synergy.

On Sunday, there will be marches by the Victory Band of Xagħra at 10.30 a.m. At noon there will be dancing and a float parade on Victory Square. The show will be presented by Veronica and Joe Farrugia (id-Dulli).

At the end of the programme, mayor Joe Cordina will distribute prizes to the winners of the Carnival competitions organised by the council.
