Malta denies claims by former US Congresswoman

The Government of Malta this evening categorically denied claims being made by former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney that "12,000 U.S. troops (are) stationed in Malta and they are about to make their descent into Libya".

Ms McKinney made these statements on her public blog http://allthingscynthiamckinney.posterous.com.

"The allegations are completely false," the government said in a statement.

I agree. I never even seen a photo of this embassy, let alone a floor plan.

And technically, this would not breach our neutrality clause because an embassy is considered to be part of the nation it represents and not part of the nation it is in.

And if they have heard of it, they have no idea WHERE Malta is: http://andreasmoser.wordpress.com/2011/12/30/where-is-malta/ - I have a feeling Ms McKinney also confused it with some other country.
