Two Estonian men have been jailed for 14 years after they admitted in court to having imported 5.7kg of cocaine to Malta in 2008. They were arrested when the drug was found hidden in their luggage after a flight from Tripoli.

The two were also fined €35,000 each.

The drug was 53% pure and had a street value of €593,000.

During today's proceedings, defence lawyer Joe Giglio said he will petition for the two to serve their jail term in Estonia. He pointed out that one of them is deaf and mute.
